If you're still relying solely on Duriel rotations in Season 11, you're missing what many endgame players are now chasing. Right now, the real endgame chase isn't a boss, a ladder, or a new build — it's a single line of text on a Nightmare Dungeon key: Mythic Prankster.
One successful run can outperform dozens of hours of traditional Mythic farming. That's why veteran players aren't asking "what's your build?" anymore — they're asking "have you seen a Prankster key yet?"

The Mythic Prankster is not a dungeon, boss, or event you can queue for. It's a rare affix that can randomly appear on any Nightmare Dungeon Sigil.
When you activate a sigil with this affix, the dungeon spawns a special loot goblin known as Fancy Old Fedric. The dungeon itself becomes more dangerous—monsters move and attack faster—but the risk is trivial compared to the reward.
Once Fedric is killed on Torment difficulty, every player present receives:
5 Mythic Unique Items
1 Mythic loot bag containing:
1 Resplendent Spark
2–3 Legendary Runes
That's not shared loot. Every player gets their own rewards.
In a full four-player group, a single run produces 20 Mythic Uniques and four Sparks. No boss loop, no RNG streaks—just raw output.
Before Season 11, farming Mythics meant repetition and patience. You ran Duriel, salvaged duplicates, and hoped the odds eventually tilted your way.
The Mythic Prankster Sigil flips that logic completely.
Instead of grinding for hours with uncertain returns, you're chasing one extremely rare key that instantly pays out at a scale Diablo 4 has never seen before. One successful Prankster run can finish a build instantly or give you enough surplus Mythics to fuel Spark crafting for weeks.
That's why players aren't asking "Is this good?" anymore. They're asking "How fast can I find one?"
If you strip away the hype, the truth is simple:
there is no guaranteed way to get a Mythic Prankster sigil. What you can do is massively increase the number of Nightmare Sigils you see per hour — and right now, nothing beats the Azmodan event loop near Zarbinzet.
The Mythic Prankster affix can only appear on Nightmare Dungeon sigils. That means your entire strategy revolves around one idea: generate as many sigils as possible, inspect every single one, and recycle the rest to try again.
This is where Azmodan becomes the centerpiece of the farm.
Azmodan himself isn't special — his chests are.
With the correct Seasonal Essence setup, Azmodan chests can drop huge batches of Nightmare Sigils in one go. Instead of slowly collecting keys from random activities, you're essentially rolling dozens of sigils at once. Every sigil is a lottery ticket, and Azmodan simply gives you more tickets per hour than anything else in Season 11.
That's why the entire farming loop exists:
not to "farm Azmodan once," but to continuously feed materials back into Azmodan runs.
Before the loop works, there's unavoidable setup. This isn't optional optimization — without it, the system collapses.
You need roughly 200 Living Steel from Helltide chests. This feels painful once, but only once. After your first full cycle, Azmodan and boss chests will refund enough materials to keep you going without returning to Helltide.
Both Essence of Sin and Essence of Hellfire must be Level 5. Lower ranks noticeably reduce sigil volume and boss material returns.
More importantly, you must understand essence slot swapping:
Lair bosses (Grigoire, Duriel, Andariel, Lord Zir):
Open world & Azmodan / World Bosses:
If you don't swap correctly, you are actively sabotaging your drop rates.
Once prepared, the loop flows naturally. You're not chasing Mythic Prankster directly — you're feeding materials into Azmodan to create sigil volume.
It works like this
You start by burning your Living Steel on Grigoire (Torment IV). His value isn't Mythics — it's Shards of Agony and Stygian Stones, which unlock Duriel.
Duriel is next, and this step is where many players quietly ruin their efficiency.
Corrupted items stop dropping once you hold 20 of the same type in your inventory. That includes Corrupted Horns of Duriel.
The workaround is simple but critical:
This lets you carry far more than the intended cap and massively improves the next stage.
Once you have Corrupted Horns (and Corrupted Eyes from Belial spawns), you head south of Zarbinzet, to the Fields of Desecration.
Before summoning Azmodan:
Swap Essences again (Sin → Purified, Hellfire → Corrupted)
After killing him, you can open two chests:
These chests are the entire reason this loop exists.
They refund boss materials like Living Steel and Exquisite Blood, but more importantly, they are reported to have roughly a 40% chance to drop a large pile of Nightmare Dungeon sigils.
This is one of the most error-prone parts of the process.
When Azmodan chests drop sigils, you cannot teleport to town immediately. If you do, dropped sigils will despawn.
The correct process is slow, deliberate, and necessary:
Only after every sigil has been checked should you return to town.
This step alone separates successful farmers from players who "never see one."
Most of the time, you won't find the affix. That's expected.
Every unwanted sigil goes to the Occultist:
This is where the real numbers game happens. Azmodan gives you bulk drops, salvaging gives you retries, and crafting turns time into probability.
Some players even fast-farm Azmodan on lower difficulty purely to generate sigils quickly, then switch to Torment IV to craft — not because it's guaranteed, but because it maximizes rolls per hour.
Even with perfect execution, the Mythic Prankster sigil is extremely rare.
Some players see one after a few hours. Others burn tens of thousands of sigil powder and never get one. The loop does not bend RNG — it just gives you more chances to fight it.
This is why the community keeps asking Blizzard for:
Until that happens, success comes down to discipline and volume.
Farming Mythic Prankster sigil is not guaranteed, above setup can help you speed up. Hopefully this breakdown helps you approach the grind more efficiently. Good luck on your Prankster hunt.
