Diablo 4 Season 15 Hellfire Torch Guide: How to Get It & Unlock Uber Tristram

Diablo 4 Season 15, Season of Hell's Legacy, brings back Old Tristram and Echo of Tristram, a hidden activity often called Uber Tristram.

Completing this chain rewards the Hellfire Torch, a Mythic Unique Charm. To get it, you'll need to collect Deckard's Journals, gather three Prime Evil Splinters, craft Wirt's Lucky Coin, and defeat the three Prime Evils in Echo of Tristram.

Hellfire Torch — Is It Worth Farming?

The Hellfire Torch is an Endgame chase item with All Stats, All Resistances, All Skills, an additional Unique Charm slot, and a random +1 Set Count bonus.

The Set Count bonus can reduce the number of Set Charms needed for certain Set Bonuses, giving you more flexibility with your Charm setup.

If you're still progressing through Torment, focus on your core gear first. Once you can comfortably farm Prime Evil Splinters, the Hellfire Torch becomes a useful long-term Endgame target.

Two Different Splinter Systems

Season 15 uses several types of Splinters, but Soul Splinters and Prime Evil Splinters serve completely different purposes.

Soul Splinters

Soul Splinters are seasonal gems used with Amalgamation and other Season 15 systems. They are equipped and upgraded as part of seasonal progression.

They are not used to open Echo of Tristram.

Prime Evil Splinters

The three Splinters required for the Hellfire Torch route are:

• Splinter of Terror — Diablo
• Splinter of Destruction — Baal
• Splinter of Hatred — Mephisto

You need one of each to craft Wirt's Lucky Coin in the Horadric Cube.

Keeping these two Splinter systems separate is important. If you are looking at Soul Splinter recipes, you are working with the wrong items for the Hellfire Torch route.

Before You Start

Before farming the Torch, make sure you can access Deckard Cain, the Horadric Cube, and Deckard's Memory.

You also need to reach Torment X for the Prime Evil Splinter farms. The three Splinters are tied to the Prime Evil dungeon content at this difficulty, so there is little reason to farm lower Torment levels specifically for them.

Use a build that can clear high Torment content efficiently and survive long boss encounters. The faster you can clear the three Prime Evil dungeons, the fewer runs you will need to complete the Torch route.

Phase 1 — Collect the 10 Deckard's Journals

The first step is unlocking Deckard's Memory, which leads to Old Tristram.

You need to find all 10 Deckard's Journals scattered across Sanctuary. Each Journal appears as a teal marker on the minimap when you get close.

Kehjistan

• Gea Kul — At the docks west of the waypoint.
• Imperial Library — South of the blacksmith anvil.
• Scouring Sands — Northeast from Tarsarak, toward the area east of Vault of the Crucible.

Hawezar

• Wejinhani — East of the waypoint, near the Alchemist.

Fractured Peaks

• Windswept — At Lorath's Cabin between Kyovashad and Nevesk.
• Yelesna — Northwest of the waypoint, in the Mistral Woods clearing.

Dry Steppes

• Hidden Overlook — West from the waypoint, near the broken bridge lookout.

Scosglen

• Marowen — At the dock on the western side.
• Braestaig — East of the waypoint, toward the Penitent Cairns entrance.
• Fat Goose Inn — West of Oldstones, inside the Fiefdom House entrance.

After collecting all 10 Journals, you receive Deckard's Journey.

Return to Deckard Cain in the Imperial Library to unlock Deckard's Memory.

Enter the portal to reach Old Tristram, where the next part of the Torch chain begins.

Phase 2 — Farm Prime Evil Splinters

Once Deckard's Memory is unlocked, your next goal is to collect the three Prime Evil Splinters.

The three Prime Evil dungeons are tied to different Prime Evils:

Drops are not guaranteed, so repeat the dungeons until you have one of each Splinter.

Craft Wirt's Lucky Coin

Place 1 Splinter of Terror, 1 Splinter of Destruction, and 1 Splinter of Hatred into the Horadric Cube and Transmute them to create Wirt's Lucky Coin.

The Coin is required to open the portal to Echo of Tristram.

Phase 3 — Unlock Echo of Tristram

Return to Old Tristram through Deckard's Memory with Wirt's Lucky Coin.

Use the Coin at Wirt's fountain in southeastern Tristram to open a red portal to Echo of Tristram, also known as Uber Tristram.

Inside, you must defeat all three Prime Evils:

• Echo of Diablo
• Echo of Baal
• Echo of Mephisto

Defeat all three to complete the encounter and claim the Hellfire Torch.

S15 Fountain Bug Warning

Some players have reported that the fountain may consume Wirt's Lucky Coin without opening the portal.

If this happens, check the latest Blizzard hotfix information before farming another set of Prime Evil Splinters. This remains a player-reported issue, not a confirmed intended mechanic.

Echo of Tristram Fight Tips

All three Prime Evils are active in the same arena, so positioning is important.

Mephisto adds dangerous zone control, while Baal and Diablo can quickly punish players who remain inside overlapping attacks. As the fight progresses, overlapping effects can make the available safe space smaller.

Keep defensive cooldowns available for dangerous phases and avoid committing to long damage windows when multiple bosses are attacking at once.

Hellfire Torch Rolls: When Should You Refarm?

Your first Hellfire Torch is worth using if its core effects fit your Build.

Consider farming another one if you specifically want a better Set Count result or stronger rolls for your main character.

There is little reason to chase perfect Torch rolls before your core Endgame gear is finished. The first goal should be getting the Torch and unlocking its additional Charm and Set-building options.

• Return to Deckard Cain and unlock Deckard's Memory.
• Farm the three Prime Evil Splinters on Torment X+.
• Combine Terror, Destruction, and Hatred in the Horadric Cube to craft Wirt's Lucky Coin.
• Use the Coin at the Old Tristram fountain to open Echo of Tristram.
• Defeat Echo of Diablo, Baal, and Mephisto to claim the Hellfire Torch.

Common mistakes: confusing Soul Splinters with Prime Evil Splinters, farming below Torment X for Splinters, trying to use the fountain before unlocking Deckard's Memory, or attempting the encounter without a build that can handle all three Prime Evils.
