Blizzard has officially announced a new set of new servers for WotLK, a brand new World of Warcraft Classic, which will give players the opportunity to start from scratch instead of trying to catch up.
Here's everything we know about these new WotLK servers for WoW Classic and their unique rules and restrictions.
WoW Classic WotLK Fresh Server Rules and Restrictions
In order to provide a unique experience for WotLK players of WoW Classic, and to level the playing field and economics for returning and new players, Blizzard is introducing a new set of Wrath of the Lich King for the WoW Classic brand-new server.
These servers will be brand new and won't let players ignore the level 55 requirement to make a death knight. This means that all players must start at level 1 like everyone else.
So how will these new WoW Classic WotLK servers work?
These WotLK new servers will have the following rules and restrictions:
For at least 90 days, you will not be able to advance your character in the Fresh Start realm.
The Fresh Start realm will not be available for character transfers for at least 90 days.
Death knights cannot be created in these realms without a level 55 character.
While this move is overall an exciting one that the community will happily welcome, in the end, the transfer policy could seriously harm the process.
This is because players can still transfer characters to these new servers after the 90-day period. This means that a reset of a player's economy and power levels can end up being futile, as players can simply transfer characters that are already fully established and potentially reach the golden cap.
It remains to be seen whether Blizzard will continue to tweak these rules or limit the amount of gold or materials players can carry in server transfers.
WoW Classic WotLK Schedule
In the latest blue post, Blizzard clarified the scheduled timetable for the release of Classic WotLK. This includes each stage of the process and where the team is now.
Over the next few months, the process was described as follows:
PvE to PvP transfer restrictions removed*
Wrath Classic closed beta test
Classic Era clone service retired
Existing realms consolidated**
New Fresh Start Realms with Wrath Classic pre-patch
Wrath of the Lich King launch
Server Transport in WoW Classic
Server transfers are a hot topic for the new WotLK servers in the new version of World of Warcraft Classic, as server transfers to these fresh servers will once again be allowed 90 days after launch.
Character transfers in WoW Classic have been free for a few months now, as players from all the smaller realms want to merge to have more content options. We can't yet guarantee that these role transfers will remain free for WoW Classic WotLK, or how they will be handled in terms of PVP to PVE realm transfer restrictions, role restrictions per server, etc.
For now, though, players will be able to transfer characters to the new WoW Classic WotLK server after 90 days, according to Blizzard.
The WoW TBC Classic is drawing to a close and many players are already focusing on the WoW WOTLK Classic. WOTLK has been known as the best expansion pack before, and more players will definitely join at that time. New players and old players will enter the game together, and queues on some servers are inevitable. Having said that, I still have to remind everyone that you need to prepare a large amount of WoW WOTLK Classic Gold, which will be rare in the initial stage, which means that the price will be a little more expensive. Sanding it yourself is slow, and buying WoW WOTLK Classic Gold at MMOSO.com can be a great decision. Of course, you can Buy TBC Classic Gold at MMOSO right now.
