MMOSO - WotLK Classic launch date confirmed! And when does TBC Classic's Joyous Journeys start?

When is WotLK Classic released?

Blizzard updates the official website of the US server, and the launch date of WotLK is confirmed

Blizzard updated the official website of WotLK Classic on July 21, US time, and announced that the release date of the expansion will be September 26, 2022!

WotLK Classic released

This update should be caused by a mistake because the official website soon removed the time and replaced it with a version without time. All the previous time predictions did not count, but this time the official website accidentally leaked information.

WotLK Classic

This official Oolong operation is exactly the same as the "accidental leak" of TBC's launch time! Around May 4, 2021, the official website once incorrectly updated the launch date of TBC Classic, and it was also updated simultaneously on, showing "Return to Outland on June 1". Ultimately the TBC Classic does open on June 1st PDT. Then, the accidental leak of the official website this time is almost 99% accurate.

In fact, when I see the date of September 26, the first thing that comes to my mind is the Wine Festival. The Wine Festival is a new festival in the Burning Crusade expansion pack of World of Warcraft. As usual, the Wine Festival will be held from September 20th to October 6th every year. During this period, players can participate in a variety of festival activities to earn tokens and kill the entrenched in the game. The festive boss Colin Spirit of the Dark Iron Bar will get epic equipment rewards, which will be a huge benefit for players in the early days of the WotLK Classic. Many players are looking forward to the epic gear of the Wine Festival, but the WotLK Classic on September 26 is just stuck in the middle of the Wine Festival. I don’t know what Blizzard will do with it. It’s better to postpone the festival like last year’s Midsummer Fire Festival.

Let’s talk about the Beta test server T7 group test. Blizzard opened all three T7 group tests on the WotLK Classic Beta test server at 5:00 Beijing time this morning. The server provides hero-level equipment, glyphs and copy consumables, for almost all tests. The team plunged headlong into Naxxramas after the test opened.

Information update: Then Blizzard officially confirmed that WoW WotLK Classsic will be released on September 26, 2022.

When does the Joyous Journeys of TBC Classic increase 50% XP buff start?

So now that we know the exact launch date of WotLK Classic, we can push forward the opening times of the "50% XP buff" and "WotLK Eve".

On June 22, Blizzard officially released a blue post, announcing a new event - Summer Experience Fans.

As the Wrath of the Lich King Classic approaches, community administrator Kaivax said, officials, hope to celebrate the (again) defeat of Kil'jaeden and the Burning Army with special events and prepare players for adventures in Northrend preparation.

Over the next few weeks, Blizzard will be adding a global Joyous Journeys buff to TBC Classic that will increase all sources of experience for players by 50%.

Although Blizzard said there is no specific launch time yet, it will open in the next few weeks, and it will be in the first few weeks of the 3.4.0 WotLK Classic eve version.

The official plan is for the campaign to run for at least 6-8 weeks until the day WotLK Classic goes live. If we organize these times, we can basically push back the launch time of each activity. Assuming the weeks mentioned above are about 3-4 weeks, then this means:

Open WotLK Classic on September 26;

Around August 23rd or 31st, the eve of WotLK Classic will open;

About July 26th or August 2nd, the 50% experience value buff will be released.
