How to Reach and Explore the Nokstella, Eternal City in Elden Ring

Nokstella, Eternal City, is one of the hidden underground locations in Elden Ring, and it's packed with exciting enemies, mysterious lore, and valuable treasures. Getting there isn't easy, but once you arrive, you'll find tons of valuable loot, including items to upgrade your Spirit Ashes and Elden Ring Runes. This guide will show you how to get to Nokstella and what to expect once you're there.

 

 

How to Reach Nokstella, Eternal City

Path 1: Ranni's Questline

The easiest way to reach Nokstella is by starting Ranni's questline. You'll need to make your way through Caria Manor in the Liurnia of the Lakes region. After defeating Royal Knight Loretta and Glintstone Dragon Adula, meet Ranni at Ranni's Rise and pledge your allegiance to her. She will give you the task of retrieving the Fingerslayer Blade.

 

Then, you need to head to Redmane Castle in Caelid and defeat Starscourge Radahn. Afterward, a comet will crash near Ancestral Woods, opening the path to the underground city of Nokron.

 

In Nokron, head through the city, defeat the Mimic Tear boss, and make your way to the Ancestral Woods. After battling Albinauric enemies and a giant Silver Tear, you'll find the Fingerslayer Blade in a chest. Return it to Ranni.

 

After giving Ranni the Fingerslayer Blade, Renna's Rise will open. Climb to the top of the tower and use the portal to reach Ainsel River. From there, head through Uhl Palace Ruins, and you'll eventually reach Nokstella, Eternal City.

 

 

Path 2: Via Siofra Aqueduct

The path 2 starts from Ancestral Woods Site of Grace. Go east from the Ancestral Woods and into a small forest area filled with spirit jellyfish. Stick to the left side, jumping down to continue on the path until you reach Siofra Aqueduct.

 

Next, you have to participate in a difficult Valiant Gargoyle Boss Fight. Fight and defeat the two Valiant Gargoyles. After the battle, you'll gain access to a coffin at the waterfall, which will teleport you to Deeproot Depths.

 

From Deeproot Depths, head north until you find another coffin that will take you to Ansel River Main, where you can enter Nokstella.

 

 

Exploring Nokstella, Eternal City

Once you arrive at Nokstella, here are the key areas and treasures to explore:

Uhl Palace Ruins: As you follow the river, you'll come across a variety of Silver Tear enemies, which explode with lightning when killed. You'll find valuable items like Smithing Stones and Ghost Glovewort here.

 

Nokstella Waterfall Basin: To reach the Nokstella Waterfall Basin Site of Grace, use a lift that will take you down. In this area, you can find Ghost Glovewort and Golden Runes, but beware of more Silver Tear enemies.

 

Buildings and Treasures: Explore the buildings around Nokstella. You can find the Archer Ashes and a treasure chest with the Ghost Gloveword Picker's Bell Bearing (2). Additionally, you'll come across Silver Tear enemies that drop Larval Tears, and you'll want to look out for an Ant's Skull Plate and Nightmaiden & Swordstress Puppets Ashes.

 

Moon of Nokstella: In a church at the top of the city, you'll find the Moon of Nokstella talisman, which increases your memory slots, making it essential for magic users.

 

Baleful Shadow and Discarded Palace Key: After exploring, you'll need to defeat Baleful Shadow as part of Ranni's questline. Once he's defeated, you'll receive the Discarded Palace Key, which is needed to open a chest in the Raya Lucaria Grand Library.

 

 

Final Steps

Once you've explored Nokstella, the path will lead you to the Lake of Rot, where more challenges await. But for now, you've conquered one of Elden Ring's most mysterious and rewarding underground cities.
