Diablo 4 Season 10 Soulspires – How Infernal Hordes Changes Affect Item Farming

Sep-25-2025

In Diablo 4 Season 10, Infernal Hordes have become the centerpiece of farming and progression. Players dive into these waves of enemies to earn loot, upgrade gear, and unlock seasonal rewards. However, the recent Soulspires update has stirred a lot of debate in the community, with many arguing that the new mechanics make the grind slower and less rewarding.

Why Soulspires Feel Worse This Season

Previously, players could contribute to a spire's progression by defeating monsters nearby, allowing for more flexible gameplay. Now, only enemies killed inside the Soulspire's area progress the event, making things more frustrating for both solo and group players.

The main complaints include:

Low spawn rates inside Soulspires, leaving players waiting around.

Enemies chasing teammates away from the spire, which means kills don't count.

Slower Infernal Hordes clears, reducing the amount of legendaries, uniques, and crafting materials earned.

As one frustrated player put it:

> "If you want us to kill monsters INSIDE the Soulspires, then spawn monsters inside them too!"

A Major Slowdown for Infernal Hordes

For groups especially, this change often means unfinished waves and wasted time. Many argue that binding the most important seasonal mechanic to Infernal Hordes was already questionable, but making almost every event a Soulspire without proper monster spawns feels punishing.

> "Putting the most important season mechanic behind Infernal Hordes is already questionable, but making every other event a Soulspire and not spawning mobs to clear them is plain evil."

Will Blizzard Adjust Soulspires?

Soulspires were intended to introduce more challenge and strategy to Infernal Hordes, but the community response suggests that tweaks may be needed. Blizzard has not confirmed whether Soulspire spawn rates or mechanics will be adjusted in future patches, but the feedback is loud and clear. With Season 10 still underway, many players are hoping for a fix to make farming Infernal Hordes more engaging and less of a grind.

For now, Infernal Hordes remain the best source of Diablo 4 items, crafting mats, and progression items in Diablo 4 Season 10. But learning how to adapt to the new Soulspire rules will be key to efficient farming this season.
