Diablo 4 Season 10: Infernal Chaos – Full PTR Details, Chaos Powers & Release Date

The next chapter of Diablo 4 arrives soon. Season 10: Infernal Chaos launches on September 23, 2025, immediately following the end of Season 9: Sins of the Horadrim. Players will get a first look during the Public Test Realm (PTR) from August 19–26, 2025, where they can test new features, systems, and balance changes before the full release.

Season Theme and Core Content

Season 10 brings two major highlights: the all-new Chaos Powers system and a major overhaul to Infernal Hordes. Whether you're hunting Mythic Uniques, pushing the highest Infernal Compass tiers, or experimenting with game-changing Perks, this season offers some of the most intense challenges yet.

Major New Features in Season 10

Chaos Powers

Chaos Powers work similarly to past seasonal systems like Horadric Powers, Boss Powers, and Vampiric Powers—but with a darker, unpredictable twist. These powers allow players to modify and enhance their skills with chaotic energy, opening the door to new builds and strategies.

Each character can equip 3 non-Unique Chaos Perks and 1 Unique Chaos Perk at a time.

Every class has access to 16 exclusive class-specific perks across four rarities: Magic, Rare, Legendary, and Unique.

Chaos Powers often come with a trade-off, offering massive power boosts at a cost. Smart perk combinations and buildcraft will be key to unleashing their full potential.

Chaos Armor

Chaos Armor is a new type of Unique item—an upgraded version of existing Uniques with greater power, additional affixes, and a surprise: they drop in different gear slots from their original versions.

For example, the Fists of Fate gloves might drop as a Chaos Armor helm, allowing you to equip another set of powerful gloves for synergetic bonuses previously impossible.

Every Chaos Armor piece always rolls at maximum Unique Power and includes at least one Greater Affix, making them some of the most powerful gear available in Season 10.

Please note that you cannot equip both standard and Chaos versions of the same Unique.

Infernal Hordes Reborn

The Infernal Hordes endgame mode has been completely reworked:

Infernal Offerings have been rebalanced, with a guaranteed starting Offering to jumpstart each run.

New Chaos Monsters grant shrine-like buffs when defeated.

Chaos Waves add optional high-difficulty waves with increased rewards.

A new boss choice—challenge the reborn Bartuc, Warlord of Chaos instead of the Fell Council for ultimate glory and loot.

Additionally, for early-game players, the new Fleeting Hordes mode offers a shorter 4-wave version of Infernal Hordes, culminating in a fight against two Fell Council members.

Chaos Rifts and Mythic Rewards

Chaos Rifts now appear during Helltide events and in Nightmare Dungeons, spewing waves of demons into Sanctuary. Sealing them grants XP, gems, and Chaos Armor, with a rare chance at a Mythic Chaos Rift that can drop Mythic Uniques.

Nightmare Dungeons featuring Chaos Rifts are also a great source of Fleeting Hordes Compasses, helping you access the updated Infernal Hordes more efficiently.

New Battle Pass Reliquary System

Season 10's Battle Pass features the Reliquary system as well, giving players multiple progression tracks so they can prioritize specific rewards—whether it's mounts, pets, armor sets, or weapon cosmetics.

Season Transition

At the end of Season 9, all seasonal characters will move to the Eternal Realm, with their gear stored in a "Withdraw Only" stash tab. To experience Season 10 content, players must create a new seasonal character.
