Diablo 4 Patch 3.3.0 PTR opens on October 27, 2026, and runs through November 3. The test previews Season 16 systems, including War Plans, Horadric Items, endgame updates, and class balance changes.
For Druids, the biggest change is how skill tags interact with upgrades and variants. Several Spirit Boons, Paragon nodes, Legendary Aspects, and Unique items are also being adjusted, potentially affecting existing builds.

Blizzard has announced the following testing window for Patch 3.3.0.
| Detail | Information |
| PTR opens | October 27, 2026, at 10 a.m. PDT |
| PTR closes | November 3, 2026, at 10 a.m. PST |
| Patch version | 3.3.0 |
| Main focus | War Plans, Horadric Items, endgame activities, and class balance |
The PTR is available on PC through Battle.net. Select Diablo 4 in the launcher, choose Public Test Realm from the game version menu, install the PTR client, and launch it.
Create a Seasonal character to test seasonal features. The PTR vendor, Mrak, is available near major city Waypoints and provides testing resources, equipment, and progression boosts.
PTR mechanics and balance values may change before Season 16 launches.
Blizzard is changing how Druid skills interact with skill tags, alongside adjustments to Resolve, Fortify, Spirit Boons, Paragon nodes, and equipment.
Nature Magic and Shapeshifting tags will be determined by the base skill rather than added through upgrades and variants.
Lightning Claw, for example, retains the Storm tag but does not gain the Nature Magic tag through its variant. Builds that depend on additional tags to activate Paragon bonuses or other effects may need to change their skills or board allocations.
| Skill | PTR Change | Build Impact |
| Landslide | Its former Resolve upgrade becomes an Overpower upgrade, consuming up to two Overpower stacks to create additional pillars. | Changes how the skill interacts with Overpower. |
| Earthen Bulwark | Travertine Bulwark extends Barrier duration by six seconds. Tectonic Spikes occur more frequently, with frequency scaling with attack speed. | Makes Barrier duration and attack speed relevant to the variant. |
| Blood Howl | Overhealing grants Ferocity stacks. Spirit Howl restores Spirit first, then heals with the remaining effect. | Changes healing and resource recovery. |
| Grizzly Rage | Its Immunity variant provides 10 seconds of immunity; its Unstoppable upgrade provides five seconds of Unstoppable. | Requires choosing between distinct defensive effects. |
| Petrify | Base stun duration increases to 10 seconds. Its former Resolve upgrade becomes Stopping Power, preventing enemies from becoming Unstoppable for five seconds. | Adds a different crowd-control option. |
| Boulder | Its Critical Strike Chance upgrade no longer scales with Resolve, and its bonus Critical Strike Chance increases to 12%. | Removes the previous Resolve interaction. |
Several Spirit Boons are being adjusted:
Gift of the Stag: Grants 100 maximum Spirit instead of 30 maximum Spirit and five Spirit per second.
Pack Leader: Gives other Companion Skills a 40% chance to reset their cooldowns after a skill with a cooldown is cast.
Energize: Can restore 15% of maximum Spirit instead of a flat 15 Spirit.
Several Paragon nodes are also changing:
Howling Thunder: Renamed from Thunderstruck; now affects both Storm and Werewolf skills.
Devastation: Increases damage to Elites for Earth and Werebear skills.
Survival Instincts: Grants 50% increased Werebear damage and 25% damage reduction.
Inner Beast: Changes Shapeshifting Skill damage and modifies Spirit cost reduction and Ultimate cooldown reduction.
Constricting Tendrils: Replaces its bonus against Poisoned enemies with an effect that can immobilize enemies and inflict Poisoning damage.
Check your skill tags and related Paragon bonuses before reusing an existing Druid build on the PTR.
Several Druid equipment changes may affect build choices:
The Storm Shepherd Talisman set also receives changes. Its two-piece bonus grants Storm Skills 40% increased damage, a 20% chance to cast twice, and a 5% chance to cast three times. Its five-piece bonus grants increased Storm Skill damage based on Spirit when cast.
Test these changes with your full setup rather than judging an item by its numerical buff alone.
War Plans Tactics lets players influence which activities and rewards appear more frequently in their War Plans.
Players earn points by completing War Plans activities and invest them in activity and reward nodes. Each node can receive up to three points, increasing the chance of the selected option appearing.
Investing at least one point in Helltides or Nightmare Dungeons unlocks an option to increase the likelihood of Greater Helltides or Escalation Dungeons appearing.
Reward categories include:
Prioritize reward nodes that match your current goal, such as crafting materials or equipment. War Plans Tactics will be available in both Seasonal and Eternal content.
Completing War Plans awards Marks of Wisdom, which are used to change nodes in War Plans Tactics and individual Activity trees instead of spending gold.
The PTR caps Marks of Wisdom at 20, so plan your activity and reward priorities before repeatedly changing your allocations.
Tyrael’s Boons is a new seasonal War Plans tree planned for Season 16. It offers four paths focused on rewards, crafting, and progression.
Players can earn up to 132 points, enough to choose up to four of the six available selections across the four paths.
Tyrael’s Boons also unlocks a Horadric Cube recipe called Greater Temper, which upgrades an item's Tempered Affix to a Greater Affix. The recipe costs 30 Scrolls of Restoration and 1,000 Obducite.
Unassigning a point costs 5,000,000 gold. Seasonal players can access the system without owning the Lord of Hatred expansion.
Seasonal Blessings remain available but become a static system with the same five Blessings each season.
Horadric Items are Legendary items that interact with Talisman set bonuses.
Horadric jewelry increases the set count of a specific Talisman set by one. This can activate a two-piece bonus with one matching charm and the corresponding jewelry item, potentially freeing another equipment slot.
Horadric weapons and armor provide additional effects when the required two-piece bonus from a specified Talisman set is active. These effects can include skill ranks, bonus damage, and defensive benefits.
When evaluating a combination, compare the extra set effect against the affixes and effects you would lose by replacing an existing item.
Reworked Infernal Hordes, the Pit, and Lair Boss activities are among the major endgame testing priorities for Patch 3.3.0.
The PTR also introduces a dual-boss encounter featuring the Corrupted Reaper and the Fractured Reaper. Their abilities work together, requiring players to handle combined mechanics rather than treating the encounter as two independent fights.
When testing an endgame build, pay attention to damage output, defensive uptime, and resource management under sustained pressure. PTR results alone do not establish a definitive class ranking.
The PTR includes two Helltide adjustments:
The Cinder change reduces the need to spend everything before the current Helltide ends.
