World of Warcraft The Burning Crusade Classic and WoW Classic Season of Mastery are both in full swing, but if new files referencing the game's Wrath of the Lich King expansion are any indication, Blizzard may soon be adding another way for players to relive the game's glory days.

As spotted by MMO-Champion, the recently released The Burning Crusade Classic was pushed to the game's patch servers, hinting that the Wrath of the Lich King Classic could be on the way. A new folder called "Interface-Wrath" has been found in the game client, containing changes specific to the Wrath of the Lich King expansion pack, such as support for the new Death Knight class on the character creation screen and when logging in blue interface button screen.

This means that players may sooner or later storm Icecrown Citadel and confront Arthas, but Burning Crusade Classic may need to reach the end of its content cycle before that. The game's Dark Temple and Raid on Mount Hyjal were released in January, which means remaining updates like The Gods of Zul'Aman and Fury of the Sunwell are due later in the year.

After that, it only makes sense for Blizzard to let players stick with the "classic" version of Wrath of the Lich King.
