Path of Exile 3.29: Curse of the Allflame has moved beyond the early-league rush, and Currency Farming is now more dependent on your build, investment, clear speed, and the current market.
Several mechanics were changed in 3.29, including Legion, Abyss, Breach, and Sanctum, while the new Allflame system adds more ways to generate valuable rewards. Instead of chasing one “best” farming strategy, choose content that fits your build and consistently produces currency or items you can sell.

| Farming Strategy | Investment | Reward Profile | Best For |
| Harvest | Low–Medium | Stable bulk value | Steady currency |
| Expedition | Low–Medium | Flexible rewards | Low-entry farming |
| Abyss | Medium | Targeted + map rewards | Abyss-focused farming |
| Legion | Medium | Direct encounter rewards | Fast-clear builds |
| Breach | Medium | Dense encounters + targeted rewards | Fast mapping |
| Sanctum | Medium–High | High-value structured rewards | Experienced players |
| Incursion | Low–Medium | Targeted Temple rewards | Planned farming |
| Ritual | Low–Medium | Mixed rewards | Flexible mapping |
There is no permanent Divine-per-hour ranking for these strategies. Map layouts, Atlas investment, Scarab prices, market values, and clear speed can all change the result.
The better question is:
Which strategy fits my character and the type of rewards I want?
PoE 3.29 changed several mechanics that affect how players approach currency farming. Legion no longer provides Incubators, so farming is now more focused on direct rewards, Generals, Timeless Splinters, and the new Enshrouding Crystal system.
Abyss was heavily reworked. Abyssal Pits now open immediately, making encounters faster, while Abyss has become the exclusive source of Abyssal Jewels and Stygian Vises. A new Pinnacle Boss also adds another endgame farming target.
Breach was also adjusted, with fewer monster packs but faster encounter progression. Sanctum received several quality-of-life and reward changes, including Flask Charge restoration between rooms and new reward options.
The new Allflame system adds another layer of league-specific farming through Charts, Voyages, Ghostly outcomes, and Ducats.
Overall, PoE 3.29 makes reward type, encounter speed, and investment cost just as important as raw monster density when choosing a farming strategy.
Harvest remains a straightforward option if you prefer consistent resources over rare jackpot drops.
Its main value comes from Lifeforce and crafting resources, which can be used for your own crafting or sold in bulk.
Harvest works well if you:
Keep your investment under control. Expensive Scarabs are not automatically worthwhile if the additional rewards do not cover their cost.
Expedition is useful for players who want several ways to generate value from regular mapping.
Its flexible reward system allows you to prioritize different types of rewards rather than relying on one specific drop. This makes it a practical option for characters that are still upgrading their gear.
Expedition can also serve as a good starting point before moving into more specialized or higher-investment farming.
Abyss deserves more attention in 3.29 because its mechanics and reward structure were significantly changed.
You no longer need to follow a moving Abyss crack. The Pits are already open, and monsters are killed to feed souls into the encounter.
The most important reward change is that Abyss is now the exclusive source of Abyssal Jewels and Stygian Vises. The new Pinnacle Boss adds another potential endgame target.
When evaluating Abyss, consider the combined value of:
If your build can clear the encounters efficiently, Abyss can provide both direct Currency and targeted item value.
Legion remains well suited to characters with strong area damage and high movement speed.
However, Incubators are no longer available in 3.29, so older farming calculations based on delayed Incubator rewards should not be applied directly.
Regular Legion monsters also no longer drop Timeless Splinters, while Generals provide larger Splinter rewards on average. The 90% automatic breakout further reduces downtime.
Legion is particularly suitable when your build can:
The new Enshrouding Crystal system also adds another source of Legion-specific value.
Breach remains useful for fast area-clear builds, but 3.29 reduced its monster density.
Unstable Breaches now generate fewer monster packs, while kill progression is faster and simultaneous Unstable Breaches are capped.
Because of this, Breach should be evaluated around the rewards you are targeting rather than raw monster count.
If your build clears Breach encounters quickly, the mechanic can still provide Currency, Splinters, and Breach-specific rewards.
Sanctum remains attractive for experienced players who can complete runs consistently.
Unlike standard mapping, failed or slow runs can significantly reduce your overall efficiency.
The 3.29 changes make repeated runs smoother, with Flask Charges restored between rooms and Volatile Vaal Orbs added to the reward pool.
Before investing heavily, consider:
Incursion is useful when you want to work toward specific Temple outcomes. Its value comes from planning room combinations and monetizing the resulting Temple rewards.
Ritual is more flexible and can be added to normal mapping. Its rewards can include Currency, Divination Cards, Scarabs, Omens, equipment, and other valuable items.
In 3.29, Ritual Altars also use locusts to indicate the next Altar, making the encounter easier to follow.
Your character's strengths should determine the strategy you use.
Start with mechanics that do not require expensive Scarabs or specialized gear.
Good choices:
Focus on consistent returns and use the profits to improve your character.
If your character clears maps quickly, mechanics that benefit from high map volume become more attractive.
Good choices:
Stronger characters can consider more specialized endgame strategies.
Good choices:
Higher investment does not automatically mean higher profit. Scarabs, maps, Fragments, and other consumables must generate enough additional value to justify the cost.
One of the biggest mistakes in currency farming is looking only at the value of dropped items.
Net Profit = Total Sale Value − Map Costs − Scarab Costs − Fragments − Other Consumables
Also account for the time spent preparing maps and selling rewards.
Track:
A strategy with lower value per map can still be better if it costs less and lets you complete more maps.
Different strategies generate different types of value.
The most useful farming strategy is often the one that produces rewards you can easily sell or convert into the Currency your build actually needs.
For players looking for specific Currency instead of waiting for individual drops, MMOSO offers a wide selection of PoE Currency, including Divine Orbs, Chaos Orbs, Exalted Orbs, Mirror of Kalandra, Orbs of Annulment, Orbs of Fusing, Orbs of Alchemy, and Vaal Orbs.
For steady value, start with Harvest or Expedition.
For fast mapping, Legion, Breach, and Abyss can work well with high-clear-speed builds.
For targeted rewards, Abyss and Incursion offer more specialized goals.
For experienced endgame players, Sanctum and higher-investment strategies can be considered.
The right choice ultimately depends on what your build can clear efficiently and which rewards are easiest for you to turn into useful Currency.
Build Currency Before Expensive Upgrades
PoE 3.29 offers plenty of ways to build wealth without copying the most expensive Farming setup.
Start with content that fits your current character, keep your Atlas focused, track your actual costs, and reinvest your profits into upgrades that improve your Farming efficiency.
Once your character becomes stronger, you can gradually increase your investment and move into more demanding endgame content.
