The PoE1 Kitava Race Qualifiers for ExileCon 2026 give players four chances to compete for a spot in the live race finale. The qualifiers are scheduled for September 3, 10, 17, and 24 at 2 PM PDT, with players racing through the campaign to defeat Act 5 Kitava as quickly as possible.
The races use a Solo Self-Found fixed-seed format, and each death applies a 60-second movement penalty. This makes build choice, route efficiency, and consistent execution essential.

The four qualifiers are scheduled for:
September 3, 2026 — 2 PM PDT
September 10, 2026 — 2 PM PDT
September 17, 2026 — 2 PM PDT
September 24, 2026 — 2 PM PDT
For players in Asia, each race takes place on the following calendar day due to the time difference.
The qualifier winners will advance to the ExileCon 2026 Race Finale, which takes place on November 7–8 in Auckland, New Zealand.
Players start fresh characters in a dedicated Solo Self-Found fixed-seed environment. Trading and previously acquired resources are not part of the race.
The goal is to progress through the campaign and defeat Act 5 Kitava as quickly as possible.
Death does not permanently delete your character, but it applies a 60-second movement penalty. Avoiding unnecessary deaths is therefore a major part of a strong run.
A good race build needs fast early clear, reliable boss damage, and low gear requirements. Early campaign performance matters more than endgame potential.
Ranged setups can clear enemies while keeping a safe distance. They are particularly useful when avoiding deaths is a priority, although early mana and defensive issues still need to be managed.
Melee can be extremely fast for experienced players, but close-range combat creates more opportunities to take lethal damage. Familiarity with the build is especially important.
Minion builds can make campaign progression safer, but slower boss damage may hurt the final time. They are a better option when you already know the early progression well.
Efficient routing can save more time than small gear upgrades. Avoid unnecessary fights, dead ends, long detours, and repeated trips to town.
Before entering town, know what you need from vendors and NPCs. Take important rewards, but skip optional content when the time investment is not worthwhile.
You do not need to kill every monster pack. Prioritize useful experience and monster density, then keep moving.
The same applies to loot. Temporary gear, low-value currency, and minor upgrades are rarely worth stopping for during a competitive run.
The death penalty makes risky plays much less attractive.
If a fight becomes dangerous, disengage instead of forcing the kill. Losing a few seconds is better than losing a full minute.
Consistency beats risky speed. A slightly slower route that you can execute cleanly is often the better choice.
Bosses should be handled quickly without sacrificing safe positioning.
Have your main skills and flasks ready before major encounters, and learn dangerous attack patterns during practice.
Kitava is especially important. A death during the final fight can erase much of the time saved throughout the campaign.
Practice the entire campaign instead of only the opening zones. Learn your route, vendor stops, important rewards, and which encounters can be skipped.
After each run, identify where you lost the most time and focus on fixing that section first.
The qualifier series leads to the ExileCon 2026 Race Finale in Auckland, New Zealand.
ExileCon will take place on November 7–8, 2026, at the Aotea Centre. The event will host the live race finale alongside other Path of Exile activities.
The Kitava Race rewards more than raw build speed. Route knowledge, movement, boss execution, and consistency all matter.
Choose a build you already understand, practice the full campaign, avoid unnecessary risks, and focus on the mistakes that cost the most time.
