Grinding Gear Games has officially confirmed that Path of Exile 2's next major update — Version 0.3.0 — will launch on August 29, 2025 (PDT). This update marks the start of the third official League in PoE 2 and promises a full seasonal reset, brand-new content, and major gameplay changes. For Path of Exile 2 fans, this is a big update. New League, Fresh Start

As with every major league, Version 0.3.0 introduces a fresh economy, where players must start new characters from scratch. Existing characters will be transferred to the Standard League, while the new season offers exclusive content not available elsewhere — including rewards, crafting systems, boss fights, and new combat mechanics.

While the new league remains unnamed for now, GGG has promised a full reveal one week before launch, offering players just enough time to theorycraft builds and prepare for the season start. It’s important to find a build to accumulate POE2 Currency quickly, laying a good foundation for endgame farming.

A New Cycle of Updates

After a somewhat bumpy start with Dawn of the Hunt in April, GGG is now back on track with their 4-month update cycle, aiming to release six leagues per year — three for PoE 1 and three for PoE 2 — alternating every two months. That means if you play both games, there's always something new just around the corner.

Following this August update, the next PoE 2 league is expected in December 2025.
