Diablo 2 Resurrected: What's the relationship between bosses in each act?

Jan-07-2024

Diablo II Resurrected is a game that challenges players with powerful BOSSes in each of its five acts. These BOSSes are the main targets that players must defeat to progress through the game. However, for most players who are not familiar with the Diablo II storyline, their backgrounds and characteristics may not be well understood. This guide will briefly introduce the relationships and unique features of these seven powerful demons in the context of the game's storyline.

(1) The Relationship Between BOSSes

The BOSSes of Acts I to V are respectively Akara (Sister), Duriel (Cockroach), Mephisto (Labor Model), Diablo (Big Pineapple), and Baal (Little B). It is important to note that their status ranking in Hell is not directly proportional to their order in the game.

In Hell, there are three Greater Demons and four Lesser Demons. The Greater Demons are Mephisto, Baal, and Diablo, while the Lesser Demons are Akara and Duriel. These seven demons were formed from the seven heads of a seven-headed demon dragon named Tathamet. Therefore, they are all siblings, and for example, Lilith (Mephisto's daughter) in Super 6 BOSS has a similar model to Akara and is stronger overall, but in fact, Akara is her aunt. Although Mephisto, as the eldest brother, is not very strong in the plot, Mephisto in Super 6 BOSS has a 20-level Faith aura and high elemental damage, making him one of the BOSSes that can kill players the most among them, which makes him proud.

(2) The Characteristics of BOSSes

Akara is the first BOSS that players encounter, with strong poison damage and physical output capabilities. However, as long as players prepare "Antidote Potion" in advance, it is not very difficult. The effect of Antidote Potion is to immediately remove the poisoned state and increase poison resistance for a short period of time. It is recommended to drink one before starting the battle and finish it quickly. In addition, the fire resistance of Akara in three difficulties is negative (representing more fire damage), which explains why the legendary "Face of Akara" has a -30% fire resistance.

Duriel, known as the killer of newcomers, is characterized by the "Holy Freeze" aura and high physical damage. When characters enter, they will be slowed down by his aura. If the character is fragile, he will be easily killed. There are various ways to kill him skillfully for different professions, but the simplest method is to use the return city blood method to exhaust him slowly. Pay attention to ensuring the health of the target (such as hirelings) that takes damage. Try to avoid direct attacks on characters as much as possible. If it is not the first time to kill him, you can also pull him to the back (where Archangel Uriel is located during the plot) to kill him from a distance with a bridge in the late Hell difficulty. The late Hell difficulty Duriel is also a common production line for dark gold jewelry, jewelry, and daily necessities equipment.

Mephisto should be the easiest BOSS to challenge. There are many places in his map where players can use distance killing methods. In the early days, some remote output professions without equipment can get quite a few daily necessities equipment from him by killing him from a riverway. Don't forget to check the boxes behind him. The late Hell Mephisto can drop all equipment and rune gems of level 85, which is a good MF choice for players with certain strength in the later stage. Compared with the BOSS, the elite head released earlier is more troublesome! The fixed fanaticism aura and ice immunity of King of Xihi make you headache!

Baal, the final BOSS of Act V and the ultimate BOSS of Diablo II's plot, although he has many skills and health points, is not very difficult compared to the previous four BOSSes. An enchanted weapon called "Water Trap" (speed fork) for hirelings can make him disabled easily. At this time, the small teams of skeletons brought by him often die under his flame hoop circle. In fact, normal challenges against him are not very difficult. The key is to resist his elemental damage (both himself and minions). The late Hell difficulty Baal's scene is where all equipment and rune gems can drop, which is also a good place for leveling up and treasure hunting in the later stage. One of the reasons why it is often chosen here is because Baal's five small teams before him are indeed helpful for leveling up. Here is also one of the common choices for leveling up and treasure hunting in the later stage!

(3) The First Kill BUG Of BOSSes

The first kill task of these five BOSSes will increase the types and chances of items dropped when they are defeated (this does not mean that the first kill will definitely drop better items than non-first kills. The chance of dropping equipment still depends on luck). Therefore, players can use their first kill bug in later stages to indirectly improve their drop rate. To permanently exploit Akara's first kill bug, after defeating her for the first time, do not exit the game even if your character dies, directly talk to the NPC to go to Act II. However, many elite dark gold equipment cannot be dropped by her except for some daily necessities in early stages. It is not necessary to spend too much time farming her in nightmare and hell difficulty. Her unique level 88 equipment is popular among many players, and she can drop Rune No. 30 at most.

There is no permanent first kill bug for the remaining three BOSSes in Act III to V, but they can also achieve first kill bugs, which requires using multiple accounts. That is to say, each act should prepare at least two characters, one is just in the process of completing the task of killing the current BOSS (named A3\A4\A5), and another is a character who has already completed the task of killing that BOSS (named B3\B4B5). For example, to exploit Diablo's first kill bug, you can create a room using B4 who has already completed killing Diablo first, then use A4 who has not yet completed this task to kill Diablo. When A4 enters the room, the task will show that it cannot be completed (make sure to confirm each time you create a room so as not to accidentally complete a task and lose a bug character). During the challenge of BOSSes, A4 does not need to output damage throughout the battle, just need to deal the final blow. Therefore, in terms of equipment matching, it is acceptable to sacrifice damage value and slightly improve MF value.
