Elden Ring Summoning Ashes Compendium: Introduction, 8 Types of Ashes and Their Combat Evaluation

In "Elden Ring," players can summon spirits using ashes to greatly enhance combat strength, especially against bosses! There are many summonable spirit ashes available to players.one Wolf Ashes, Corrupted Dog Ashes, and Spirit Jellyfish Ashes.

 

Animal-type ashes include:

 

Individual-type ashes include: Soldier of Godrick Ashes, Outcast Knight Aurelius Ashes, Headless Rider Margit Ashes, Black Knife Grandmaster Ashes, Noble Sorcerer Ashes, Northern Mercenary Ashes, and Mimic Tear Ashes, among others.

     

Group-type ashes include: Wandering Noble Ashes, Bandit Swarm Ashes, Skinny Soldier Ashes, and Little Demon Ashes, among others.

 

Below is a list of 8 easily obtainable summoning ashes.

 

 

1. Lone Wolf Ashes (Gifted by NPC)

Introduction of Ashes:

These ashes allow the summoning of three lone wolves' spirits, also known as the "Three Dogs Carnage Formation," capable of challenging even the Lord of Frenzied Flame.

 

Background Story:

The souls of wolves expelled from their pack, said to have met an unnamed tarnished one and hunted together. They move quickly to distract enemies and provide significant aid in battle.

 

Summoning FP Cost:

55 points

 

Location to Obtain:

Head to the Church of Celia and rest at the blessing site, then speak with NPC Reina sitting next to the church ruins to obtain the ashes.

 

Player's Combat Evaluation:

Decent output capability; significantly reduces pressure in both group battles and boss fights early on.

 

 

2. Corrupted Dog Ashes (Poisonous Cheating Tactic)

Introduction of Ashes:

Allows the summoning of a single corrupted dog spirit.

 

Background Story:

A dog's soul corrupted by the Scarlet Rot. Small in size, quick in movement, and extremely  vicious. Its dirty teeth are covered with rotten poison.

 

Summoning FP Cost:

35 points

 

Location to Obtain:

Go to Dragon's Breath Ruins to open a trap chest that teleports to a cave, then head outside to a corpse to obtain the ashes.

 

 

 

Player's Combat Evaluation:

The dog deals damage and applies poison. Apply the Warflame spell of Poison to your sword, summon the dog's spirit to attack alongside, then wait for the poison to spread across the boss's body to win without fighting very useful!

 

 

3. Headless Rider Margit (Tanky and Hitting Hard)

Introduction of Ashes:

One of the legendary ashes, allowing the summoning of the headless rider Margit's spirit. The leader of the Raya Lucaria soldiers, a headless knight's spirit wielding a spear of death.

 

Background Story:

Margit followed her lord in death, guarding his side. After the rebirth of the soulless demi-gods, she was rewarded and allowed to return as a hero.

 

Summoning FP Cost:

104 points

 

Location to Obtain:

Obtained after clearing the underground graveyard in Raya Lucaria.

 

Player's Combat Evaluation:

A tanky and hard-hitting summon; a great help for mages fighting bosses. Available in the early to mid game, very practical.

 

 

4. Outcast Knight Aurelius Ashes

Introduction of Ashes:

Allows the summoning of the outcast knight Aurelius's spirit.

 

Background Story:

Once famous as one of the wings of the Storm King, he was chosen by the graceful king to hunt down countless traitors. Therefore, he was rewarded and allowed to return as a hero.

 

Summoning FP Cost:

100 points

 

Location to Obtain:

The Outcast Knight Aurelius's ashes are located at the very first blessing site. Use the Stone Sword Key to enter the Hero's Graveyard, follow the path with the rolling boulder trap, defeat the corrupted tree spirit boss to get the seed and Outcast Knight Aurelius's ashes.

 

 

 

Player's Combat Evaluation:

Like the headless rider, he's tanky and hits hard; has a stronger attack desire but slightly worse dodging ability than Margit.

 

 

5. Mimic Tear Ashes (High Growth Potential)

Introduction of Ashes:

Legendary Mimic Tear ashes allow the summoning of Mimic Tear's spirit. Instead of consuming FP for summoning, they consume health points.

 

Background Story:

A soul that can mimic the appearance of the summoner in battle, yet cannot replicate their mind. This is a creation left behind when the Eternal City attempted to create a king.

 

Summoning HP Cost:

Consumes 660 health points

 

Location to Obtain:

Located in the Night's Sanctuary in the Eternal City. The new map of the Eternal City will be unlocked after defeating the boss in the Garioch region, or it can be reached by jumping down from the ancestral forest ruins in Grace.

 

 

 

Player's Combat Evaluation:

A powerful summon that can be used until late in the game; it can replicate the player's attributes and items, and its strength increases with upgrades. +10 upgrade gives it ten times the player's health and it will dodge rolls and use items. In short, the stronger you are, the stronger it gets!

 

 

Ash Enhancement and Upgrade:

 

Find the little girl NPC Roderica at the Round Table Hall to strengthen and upgrade the ashes, also known as tuning spirits. Tuning materials require Cemetery Bellflowers, which can be found in the underground graveyard where death descends.

 

Additionally, here are brief introductions to some less powerful ashes.

 

 

6. Spirit Jellyfish Ashes (Gifted by NPC)

Introduction of Ashes:

Allows the summoning of a giant jellyfish that attacks nearby enemies.

 

Background Story:

A floating soul, illuminated by itself. The jellyfish has tears on its face and is searching for her distant home; she will bravely attack enemies on behalf of her summoner.

 

Summoning FP Cost:

31 points

 

Location to Obtain:

Head to the dilapidated hut on Mt. Storm and speak with the NPC multiple times to obtain the Spirit Jellyfish Ashes.

 

Player's Combat Evaluation:

The jellyfish mostly deals ranged damage; once enemies get close, its attacks are easily interrupted.

 

 

7. Noble Sorcerer Ashes (Ranged Mage)

 

Ashes Picture:

 

 

 

Introduction of Ashes:

Summons a noble sorcerer's spirit, containing the soul of a noble who studied sorcery in Raya Lucaria. Using the entry-level light magic, this seems enough for nobility.

 

Summoning FP Cost:

11 points

 

Location to Obtain:

Obtained after clearing the underground graveyard in Raya Lucaria.

 

 

 

Player's Combat Evaluation:

Summons a mage who can only attack from a distance; weak against melee and not very high output. Not very useful, only for enhancing DPS.

 

 

8. Wandering Noble Ashes

 

Ashes Picture:

 

 

 

Introduction of Ashes:

Can summon five wandering nobles' spirits. The ashes contain the souls of nobles who now wander aimlessly on this land after death. They seem to have forgotten what they were searching for and now wander aimlessly.

 

Summoning FP Cost:

28 points

 

Location to Obtain:

Obtained after clearing the underground graveyard in Raya Lucaria.

 

Player's Combat Evaluation:

Summons five spirits, slow in action and low in combat efficiency. However, considering their numbers, they are good for pulling aggro.
