Boss Power System Debuts
One of the major highlights of the new season is the introduction of the Boss Power system. Players can collect and equip Boss Powers by defeating World Bosses, Event Bosses, and the newly reworked Lair Bosses. Each character can equip one Primary Power and up to three Minor Powers at a time, allowing for diverse and customized build options.
There are 24 Boss Powers in total to unlock, some of which will only be obtainable by overcoming greater difficulties.
Lair Bosses Revamped
The endgame Boss system has been revamped into the new Lair Boss challenge, featuring three difficulty tiers: Initiate, Greater, and Exalted Lair Bosses.
After defeating Lair Bosses, players can spend Lair Keys to open reward chests, potentially earning up to seven unique items at Torment difficulty.
Each Lair Boss now has a dedicated map and clear key requirements, helping players efficiently plan their progression.
New Legendary and Unique Items
Season 8 introduces multiple new Legendary and Unique items for all six classes—Barbarian, Druid, Necromancer, Rogue, Sorcerer, and Spiritborn. These additions further expand build diversity and combat strategies.
Additionally, Diablo IV will feature a limited-time crossover with the iconic manga Berserk, offering exclusive themed cosmetics.
Reliquary Battle Pass System
The season also debuts the new Reliquary Battle Pass system, divided into four thematic tracks: Belial's Return (free), Weapons, Beasts, and Armor.
Players can choose which Reliquary track to purchase or unlock the entire collection with a bundled offer.
Seasonal Event Reliquaries will also be available, allowing players to redeem exclusive rewards using Blessing Coins.
Additionally, the Season Journey rewards have been enhanced—players who complete the full Season Journey will unlock a new companion pet: the Iris Cat, who will accompany adventurers across Sanctuary.
In short, season 8 will bring many new changes. Prepare to face Belial, stock up enough Diablo IV Gold, and enjoy a Battle Pass system that finally feels meaningful. Good luck in Sanctuary!
