Diablo 2 Resurrected: What's The Best Necromancer Build?

Mar-21-2022

The Summoner build is arguably the best Necromancer build in Diablo 2 Resurrected. It enhances your character's ability to summon skeletons, undead mages, and golems to create a massive army that will destroy all enemies in your path.

Making a Summoner Necromancer feels different than any other class or build. Many builds include spawned allies, and all of them rely on mercenaries. The following is how to make the best Summoner Necromancer in D2 Resurrected.

Summoner Necromancer Skills

Raise Skeleton - This skill will greatly boost the abilities of your skeletons, is the basic ability for Necromancers to summon bone buddies. You project it on the fallen corpse of your enemy, and it constructs a skeleton warrior to fight alongside you. The raise skeleton is one of the most important skills in your build.

Skeleton Mastery - This skill improves the life and damage of Skeletons, Skeleton Mages, and revived monsters, so summoners want to max this skill alongside Raise Skeleton, and the higher your skeleton mastery, the cooler your skeletons will look!

Corpse Explosion - Corpse Explosion is as powerful as the life of the that it is cast upon, so casting it on the maxed-out skeletons that die will do loads of damage. This way, you'll also maximize your build's potential damage output. So the corpse explosion is a great way to make the most of every dead body in your path.

Raise Skeletal Mage - Skeleton Warriors are powerful, but Necromancers can use this skill to go a step further and summon Skeleton Mage. You can summon up to eight, like warriors, but they use magic attacks instead of physical attacks, thus diversifying the damage of your undead army.

Golem - When you get stronger, the golem tree will branch into several different golems. The Iron Golem is the secret favorite of min-maxing Summoner players. The Fire Golem, Clay Golem, and Blood Golem are also popular choices.

Golem Mastery - Necromancers can summon golems of different elements, which increase their speed and life by 33% and 400% respectively, making them a more persistent threat in any battle.

Lower Resist - To ensure your army deal as much damage as possible when they arise, this skill curses enemies to take more damage from magic attacks, lowers their resistance. But always keep in mind that this curse only affects elemental damage!

Amplify Damage - This ability curses your enemies to take more damage from you and your allies. However, it does focus on non-magic damage.

Dim Vision - The dim vision has a massive radius and can disable ranged attackers. This can be used to gain an advantage in combat, or some cases, help you dash past enemies in a dungeon to speed-run an objective.

Summoner Necromancer Mercenary

Your skeleton army can become very powerful through the Might Aura granted by the offensive mercenaries in Act 2 (Nightmare). This way, your minions will stay the course even in Act 5 of Hell Mode.

If your mercenaries are wearing ethereal items, they don't lose durability, so ethereal item bases in every gear slot are preferred as they increase defense against armor items and increase damage to weapons. In many cases, ethereal items that are ideal for mercenaries will be significantly more expensive than non-ethereal items.
