Diablo 2 Resurrected Horadric Cube: Magic Item Crafting & Respec Guide

Hey adventurers! While most Horadric Cube guides focus on upgrading gear or socketing runeword bases, there are also a number of fun and quirky magic item crafting recipes. This guide lists Horadric Cube recipes that guarantee specific magical item. 

 

Magical Item Creation Recipes

These recipes create magic (blue) items with specific guaranteed prefixes, sometimes accompanied by a random suffix.

 

Leech Sword

4 Health Potions (any) + 1 Ruby (any) + 1 Magic Sword → Magic Sword of the Leech

 

ilvl = 30 (ilvl = item level).

This recipe always grants the "of the Leech" suffix (4-5% Life Stolen Per Hit). May also have a random prefix. The type of sword doesn't change. For example, if you put a two-handed sword in, you still get a two-handed sword with the vampire attribute.

 

Prismatic Amulet

6 Perfect Gems (one of each type) + 1 Magic Amulet → Prismatic Amulet

 

ilvl = 50.

The resulting amulet always has the Prismatic prefix (All Resistances +16–20). It may also include a suffix.

 

Elemental Resistance Rings

Each of these rings guarantees a specific resistance prefix:

Jade Ring (Poison): 1 Magic Ring + 1 Perfect Emerald + 1 Antidote Potion

 

Garnet Ring (Fire): 1 Magic Ring + 1 Perfect Ruby + 1 Exploding Potion

 

Coral Ring (Lightning): 1 Magic Ring + 1 Perfect Topaz + 1 Rejuvenation Potion

 

Cobalt Ring (Cold): 1 Magic Ring + 1 Perfect Sapphire + 1 Thawing Potion

 

All these rings have ilvl 30 and grant +21-30% resistance of the respective element. May also have a suffix.

 

Magic Shield of Spikes

1 Magic Shield(any type) + 1 Spiked Club(any type) + 2 Skulls(any type) → Magic Shield of Spikes

 

ilvl = 30

Always grants "of Spikes" suffix (Attacker Takes Damage of 4-6). May include a prefix.

The type of shield is fixed, and any type of shield (including the shield of Paladin and Necromancer class) can be used as material.

 

Savage Polearm Weapon

1 Diamond(any) + 1 Staff(any) + 1 Kris(any) + 1 Belt(any) → Savage Polearm

 

ilvl = 50

Creates a random magic polearm with the Savage prefix (66-80% Enhanced Damage). May include a suffix.

The polearm type will randomly choose from a Bardiche, Battle Scythe, Bill, Halberd, Lochaber Axe, Partizan, Poleaxe, Scythe, Voulge, or War Scythe.

 

Jewelery

3 Magic Ring = 1 Random Magic Amulet

 

ilvl = int (0.75 * clvl).  (clvl = character level)

Use unwanted rings for a chance to create a high-quality amulet.

This means that when the character level is 65, ilvl = 48. So any Magical Prefix or Suffix with a level of 48 and below might be available.

 

At Character Level 99, ilvl = 74. It is not possible to create a +2 skills amulet with this recipe, because those have at least a ilvl of 90.

 

3 Magic Amulets = 1 Random Magic Ring

 

ilvl = int (0.75 * clvl).

Use unwanted amulets for a chance to create a high-quality ring.

This means that when the character level is 65, ilvl = 48. So any Magical Prefix or Suffix with a level of 48 and below might be available. (Works the same as with rings.)

 

 

Low-Level Magic Weapon Reroll Recipes

These can be used multiple times on the same weapon, which allows one to re-do the roll if the new weapon is not of the desired quality or has only one socket.

 

3 Chipped Gems + 1 Magic Weapon → Socketed Magic Weapon (1-2 sockets)

 

ilvl = 25

This recipe rerolls the stats on a magical weapon, setting it with new, random modifiers and 1-2 sockets.

 

 

3 Standard Gems + 1 Socketed Weapon → Socketed Magic Weapon (1-2 sockets)

 

ilvl = 30

This recipe rerolls the stats on the weapon, creating a new magical version of the same weapon, with random modifiers and 1-2 sockets.

Any type of gems may be used, but they must be normal (between flawed and flawless) in quality.

 

3 Flawless Gems + 1 Magic Weapon → Socketed Magic Weapon (1-2 sockets)

 

ilvl = 30

This recipe rerolls the stats on the weapon, creating a new magical version of the same weapon, with random modifiers and 1-2 sockets.

 

⚠Magical weapons that can not have sockets, such as throwing weapons, will spawn with new modifiers but no sockets.

 

 

Respec Recipe (v1.13+ Only)

Option 1: Akara Respec

Complete the Den of Evil quest in each difficulty.

Allows 1 free respec per difficulty from Akara.

 

Option 2: Token of Absolution (Repeatable Respec)

Recipe:

1 Twisted Essence of Suffering + 1 Charged Essence of Hatred + 1 Burning Essence of Terror + 1 Festering Essence of Destruction → Token of Absolution

 

A Token of Absolution allows you to reset your stats.

 

Essence Drop Locations:

Twisted Essence of Suffering: Hell Andariel, Hell Duriel

Charged Essence of Hatred: Hell Mephisto

Burning Essence of Terror: Hell Diablo

Festering Essence of Destruction: Hell Baal

 

These essences drop in Hell difficulty only and are roughly as rare as keys used for the Pandemonium event. The resulting Token allows you to respec one time, even after you've used all Akara respecs.
